We are a multidisciplinary law firm located in CBD Melbourne and we have an assistant accountant position open.

Position Summary:
1. General accounting duties including processing Account Receivable and Payable and entering transactions for both Office and Trust Accounts accurately and within the required timeframe.
2. Using LEAP to ensure statutory compliance with trust account management under supervision of director solicitor.
3. Monitoring and controlling account payable and receivable using MYOB and LEAP system.
4. Entering daily bank statement transaction data using LEAP System.
5. May communicate with our client to chase up payments
6. Assisting external CPA to prepare the financial statement and ensure the accuracy of information contained in the financial report and statutory compliance.
7. Issuing invoice/cheques/office receipt/trust receipt according to solicitors' instruction for our daily legal practice.
8. Organising the office layout and maintaining supplies of stationery and equipment
9. Maintaining the condition of the office and arranging for necessary repairs;
10. Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate;
11. Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority;
12. Organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments;
13. Dealing with incoming emails, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the director;
14. General office admin tasks
15. May be assigned with other tasks from time to time.
Key Abilities:
Candidates must be responsible, quick to learn, honest, hardworking and be comfortable in a team. In particular, we would like to see in our candidates:
1. independence in accomplishing assigned tasks;
2. initiatives to take on new assignments or propose ideas;
3. file management and record-keeping skills;
4. attention to details while maintaining efficiency;
5. quick understanding of procedure and legal situations;
6. problem-solving skills;
7. instructions-taking skills;
8. drafting and oral presentation skills;
9. ability to read and write Chinese and converse in Mandarin and/or Cantonese; other language skills are highly desirable.
